These steps work at any DNS provider, such as AWS Route 53, Squarespace, Wix, DigitalOcean or Vercel. The menu names differ, but the records are the same.
1. Find the DNS settings
Log in where your DNS is managed and look for DNS, DNS records, Zone or Manage DNS. Not sure where that is? See Who manages my DNS?
2. Add the five records
Copy each value from your domain page in HostBring; they have copy buttons.
| Type | Host / Name | Value | Priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| TXT | _hostbring | the hostbring-verify=… value | |
| TXT | @ | the SPF value, for example v=spf1 include:spf.hostbring.com ~all | |
| CNAME | hb1._domainkey | the hb1-….dkim.hostbring.com value | |
| TXT | _dmarc | v=DMARC1; p=none; fo=1 | |
| MX | @ | mx1.hostbring.com | 10 |
3. Tips that work everywhere
- Host may be called Name, Hostname or Record.
@means the domain itself; some panels want it left empty instead. - Most panels add your domain to the name automatically, so type only
_hostbring. If yours wants the full name, type_hostbring.yourdomain.com. - TTL: leave the default, or choose the lowest offered.
- Have only one SPF record (TXT starting with
v=spf1). If you have one, replace it with the combined value from your domain page. - If the provider has a proxy or "CDN" switch, turn it off for these records.
- Add MX last, after your new addresses are ready, and remove all other MX records.
Then press Check now on your domain page. Most changes show within an hour; a few providers take longer.
