Use this guide if your domain's DNS is managed at GoDaddy.
1. Open your DNS records
- Log in at godaddy.com.
- Open My Products, find your domain and click DNS (or Manage DNS).
2. Add each record
Click Add New Record for each row. Copy the values from your domain page in HostBring.
| Type | Name | Value | Priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| TXT | _hostbring | the hostbring-verify=… value | |
| TXT | @ | the SPF value, for example v=spf1 include:spf.hostbring.com ~all | |
| CNAME | hb1._domainkey | the hb1-….dkim.hostbring.com value | |
| TXT | _dmarc | v=DMARC1; p=none; fo=1 | |
| MX | @ | mx1.hostbring.com | 10 |
- Name: type only the short name. GoDaddy adds your domain itself.
- TTL: leave the default.
3. Things that trip people up at GoDaddy
- GoDaddy often has an SPF record already (a TXT at
@starting withv=spf1). Edit it to the combined value on your domain page. Do not add a second one. - If there is already a
_dmarcrecord, keep it. You don't need ours. - If you used GoDaddy email before, there are MX records ending in
secureserver.net. Delete them only when you switch MX, as the last step.
Then press Check now on your domain page.
