Use this guide if your DNS is managed by a hosting company that uses cPanel (for example many Pakistani hosts, Bluehost or HostGator).
1. Open the Zone Editor
- Log in to your hosting cPanel.
- Under Domains, open Zone Editor.
- Click Manage next to your domain.
2. Add each record
Click + Add Record and choose the type. Copy the values from your domain page in HostBring.
| Type | Name | Record | Priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| TXT | _hostbring | the hostbring-verify=… value | |
| TXT | your domain (@) | the SPF value, for example v=spf1 include:spf.hostbring.com ~all | |
| CNAME | hb1._domainkey | the hb1-….dkim.hostbring.com value | |
| TXT | _dmarc | v=DMARC1; p=none; fo=1 | |
| MX | your domain (@) | mx1.hostbring.com | 10 |
- Name: type the short name. cPanel completes it to the full name (for example
_hostbring.yourbusiness.pk.) when you leave the field. That is correct. - cPanel usually has an SPF record already. Edit it to the combined value on your domain page instead of adding a new one.
3. Switch email routing (important)
When you add our MX record (last), also open Email → Email Routing in cPanel and choose Remote Mail Exchanger. Otherwise email sent from your own website (contact forms) stays on the old server and never reaches HostBring.
Then delete the old MX records (often mail.yourdomain or your domain itself) and press Check now on your domain page.
