Nameservers decide which company runs your domain's DNS. If your new hosting or DNS provider asks you to "change the nameservers", you can do it yourself for domains bought from HostBring.
1. Get the new nameservers
Your new provider gives you two or more, usually in its welcome email or setup page. They look like ns1.provider.com and ns2.provider.com.
2. Change them
- Click Domains in the menu and open your domain.
- In Manage, click Change nameservers.
- Choose Use another provider’s nameservers.
- Type the nameservers (Add another if you have more than two).
- Click Change now (or Send request, see below).
3. What happens next
| Domain | What happens |
|---|---|
| .com, .net, .org and most others | Changed at once. You see the new nameservers straight away. |
| .pk and .com.pk | PKNIC changes them by hand: the form sends a request to our team, who update it within a few hours and reply on a support ticket. |
| A domain in your own registrar account | Change them in that account, or the form sends a request to our team. |
The change can take up to 24 hours to work everywhere, while the internet updates.
